In the enchanting gardens of Honua Lani, you are invited to relax, and absorb the pristine qualities of tropical living. For your accommodation comfort, we offer two fully equipped rentals: a one-bedroom condo in the main house on the valley ridge of our property; and a cozy two-bedroom guest cottage overlooking the ocean. Perfect for nature lovers!
Guest Cottage -- Vacation Rental
The Guest House boasts magnificent ocean and garden views from the decks, which span three sides of the house. It sits near the top of our hill surrounded by trees and gardens. You can watch the sun rising out of the ocean right from you dining table! A romantic honeymoon hide-away!
A beautifully furnished, fully equipped 650 sq. ft. house, with kitchen (with full-size refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, dishes, pots/pans, blender, coffee maker, and purified water, etc.), living area (with private phone line, cable-TV, VCR, CD-stereo with a Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar CD collection), free wireless internet, roomy bathroom (with full-size tub), dining area. From the kitchen and dining area, you have the splendid view down a beautiful jungle valley to the clear blue ocean.
One large bedroom with brand new king size bed; and one very large loft bedroom with queen-size bed. Comfortably sleeps four people, and can even accommodate 2 more on the living-room futon couch. Very cool and comfortable with ceiling fans, portable air-conditioning, along with tropical breeze from the valley!
Overlooks a tropical garden full of fruit trees, avocado trees, and flowers scenting the air and soothing the senses. Many of our guests talk about the many birds they see and hear sing in the morning! Private drive entrance, and private entrance to the cottage. Laundry facility. Gas BBQ. Sauna house (dry or steam) is located by the main house. When you arrive, we provide you with fresh flowers, and a welcome basket of fresh fruit and Hawaiian goodies!

Home Condo Unit -- Vacation Rental / Bed & Breakfast
A gorgeous redwood and cedar home, with huge decks, and fabulous views of the ocean, mountains, and cascading waterfalls. The house is all wood finished for a warm homey tone, and surrounded by tropical flora, for a natural peaceful setting. The rental unit is the entire ground level story, and very private. The grounds are hedged-in for your seclusion, fruit picking, and private use. This unit has become quite a popular honeymoon suite!
A beautifully furnished, fully equipped 600 sq. ft. apartment, with private bedroom, bathroom, living area (with private phone line, cable-TV, VCR, CD-stereo with a Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar CD collection), free internet access (ethernet cable), dining area, kitchen (with full-size refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, dishes, pots/pans, blender, coffee maker, purified water, etc.).
Large bedroom with brand new king size pillow-top Beautyrest bed, air-conditioned, and ceiling fan too. Living room has a sofa bed and can accommodate other family members. We always ensure 100% cotton bedding and towels, and everything else in the house is kept immaculate.
Plus a large private deck, with ocean view, overlooks a tropical garden full of fruit trees, avocado trees, and flowers scenting the air and soothing the senses. Private drive entrance, and private entrance to the unit. Laundry facility. Gas BBQ. The sauna house (dry or steam) is conveniently located right next to your quarters. When you arrive, we provide you with fresh flowers, and a welcome basket of fresh fruit and Hawaiian goodies! This unit is non-smoking.

Location
We are centrally located on the East side of Kauai, known as the "Royal Coconut Coast," close to the mountains behind Kapaa, with easy access to the Kapaa by-passes. Only 20 minutes from the airport. Ag-rural quiet, and only 5 minutes from town (restaurants, shopping) and beaches.
Kealia beach (left) is one of the beautiful beaches on Kauai, and the closest to our home.
Within minutes from the house, you can experience fabulous hikes, such as the mystical Makalea Springs, Sleeping Giant mountain, many waterfalls, horseback riding, or go to the Wailua River area for Kayaking, River Boat Tours, Luau feasts, or simply do more swimming, snorkeling, or even surfing at the many beaches in the Kapaa area!
Also take advantage of the gorgeous world-class golfing greens we host on Kauai (click here for more info on local golf courses on Kauai) -- all of which are within a half-hour drive form our place. Noteworthy is the Wailua ocean-side golf course, ranked in the top 10 municipal golf courses in America, with a low green fee of $35, and a mere 12 minutes from our place!
To support you in making the most out of your vacation, and enjoy a healthy bonus, we provide these services:
- Regular massage, or Lomi lomi massage (Hawaiian style) by Jai, our resident LMT
- Sauna
- Hawaiian style "sauna salt scrub and sweat" followed by a massage is an incredible experience -- very popular
- Healing bodywork: Body Alignment Technique (tests and balances various zones in the body relating to ailments or issues)
- Jai's jewerly and bead shop; jewelry making classes also available!
- Nature hike guide (to all the most special secluded spots and waterfalls on the island -- an eco-tourist delight!)
- We provide (free of charge) boogie boards, snorkel gear, beach mats, beach towels, cooler, beach chairs, beach umbrella.
- Home gym
- Yoga classes (beginner to advanced) 3 times per week, just a few minutes walking distance from our property
- Private showing of Jai's exquisite pearl and Hawaiian jewelry and silk clothing collections
- Our own labeled guide-map with 8-page document "Around Kauai" summarizing the best things on Kauai: beaches, snorkel, waterfalls, hikes, restaurants, etc. Plus our personal guidance to all the best places, music, food, and things to do on Kauai. In each unit you'll also find Kauai hiking and guide books and materials on activities around Kauai.
We feel that our garden retreat on Kauai is a very special place, and we aim for you to enjoy a rich experience and get the most out of your vacation. Many of our guests have said this is the nicest place they've every vacationed! (Please view our guest book.) We do spend time with our guests answering many questions, providing guidance, sharing the culture of Kauai, and the good things we do here, including our permaculture gardens, and art.
To maintain quality and ensure an allergy free environment, the units are "no pets," "no drugs," "non-smoking" except for the cottage smoking is permitted outside only, and "no incense."
Additional persons (over 2 guests): $15/night extra per person. When placing a reservation please mention the number of guests who will be staying. Families may ask us for a discount on a second child. Infants who don't crawl, no charge. Toddlers, $30 additional cleaning fee.
Deposit and Confirmation: After you place a reservation with us, we require a 50% rental deposit. Upon receiving that, we will promptly return you a confirmation and receipt letter, along with a map with directions to Honua Lani Gardens.
Security Deposit: We require a credit card for security.
Other Charges: In addition to a clean-out fee of $50 the only other normal charge is Hawaii tax. If when you depart the place is left very dirty and messy then an additional cleaning fee of $50 may apply.
Cancellation: With a 60-day (or more) written notice we will refund the full deposit, less a $50 processing fee. With less than a 60-day written notice, we make best effort to re-book the unit and return you a refund less a $50 processing fee.
